AI Accessibility · Designed in Switzerland
Anastasis is an AI assistant for blind and visually impaired people — describing the world, flagging danger, and guiding every step, through a phone camera today and smart glasses tomorrow.
Also from Anastasis: Anam Cara, our companion app for grief and loss.
Mission
Anastasis exists to give visually impaired people back something maps and apps rarely offer: the confidence to move through an unfamiliar world without waiting for someone else's help.
I.
Live AI vision turns a camera feed into spoken description — obstacles, signs, hazards, faces — in plain, calm language.
II.
GPS voice navigation, compass direction, and distance-aware alerts replace guesswork with a steady running commentary.
III.
One SOS command shares live location with an emergency contact and a medical profile — no screen required.
Looking further
Anastasis starts with an app. It doesn't end there. We intend to keep bringing real, working AI support directly to the people who need it — built deliberately, one working tool at a time.
Technology
Phone camera first. Smart glasses next. Every capability is voice-first and built to work without looking at a screen.
Vision
Describes the environment, flags obstacles and hazards, and reads signs and text out loud — in calm, plain language.
Navigation
Voice-led direction and orientation, so getting from one place to another doesn't require sight or a screen.
Emergency
A single command reaches an emergency contact and shares your situation — fast, and without fumbling for a phone.
Hardware
Works fully through a phone camera now, with hands-free smart glasses support arriving as the next step.
Language
Built multilingual from day one, including Romanian — not bolted on as an afterthought.
Inside the app
Real screens from the app, running on a real device. No mockups.
One tap for everything. Two zones fill the screen: describe what's around you, or reach Emergency SOS — nothing else to search for.
Point, ask, hear it back. Objects, text, banknotes, and product labels, described out loud in plain language, seconds after the photo is taken.
A safeguard before anything happens. A double press arms it, then a plain countdown gives a moment to cancel before the call and message go out.
Accessibility, up front. Voice guidance, high contrast, and large text live on the main Settings screen — not buried three menus deep.
Medical ID, always ready. Name, date of birth, and a photo, kept on the device for the moment first responders need it.
Blood type, allergies, notes. The details emergency responders ask for first, filled in once and never asked for again.
One contact, one address. Everything Walking Guide and SOS need to look after you — who to call, and how far home is.
Funding the mission
Everything built so far — the app, the testing, the hardware — is funded out of pocket. There's also a small token, $ANS, for people who want to add to it directly.
$ANS
A small way to support the project
Solana network. This is a small, early addition to a self-funded project — not an investment pitch.
Roadmap
Now
Core experience is functional and under daily testing.
This stage
Moving from phone-only to hands-free smart glasses support.
Next
Real users, real feedback, before anything goes public.
Then
Full launch once it's ready — not before.
Anastasis is an assistive tool. It does not replace a guide dog, white cane, human assistant, doctor, or emergency service. AI detection may be wrong, delayed, or incomplete. Anastasis is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta Platforms, Inc.

Anastasis ("the app") is an assistive tool for blind and visually impaired people. We designed it to keep as little of your data as possible off your own device.
Anastasis does not require or use any account, sign-in, username, or password. There is nothing to register for.
Your location, your medical profile (blood type, allergies, conditions), and your emergency contact's name and phone number are stored only on your device. This information never travels to any Anastasis server. It only ever leaves your phone if you trigger a call or text message yourself (for example, an SOS alert), using your phone's own calling and messaging functions — the same way any phone call or text works.
When you use camera guidance (asking Anastasis to describe what's in front of you, read text, or check a label), the photo is sent to our AI vision service so it can generate a spoken description. Photos are used only to produce that description and are not used to build advertising profiles or sold to third parties. We also use crash and diagnostic reporting (Sentry) to find and fix bugs; this does not include personal identifiers by default.
Anastasis does not use advertising trackers and does not sell data to advertisers.
Anastasis Premium is an auto-renewable subscription processed entirely through your Apple ID, via Apple's App Store billing (using RevenueCat to manage entitlements on our side). We never see or store your card details — those are handled exclusively by Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy.
Anastasis is not directed at children and is not intended to knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Any meaningful change will be reflected here, with the update date above.

By downloading or using Anastasis, you agree to these terms.
Anastasis is assistive software, currently in active development. Its AI descriptions, voice guidance, navigation, and hazard alerts may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Anastasis does not replace a guide dog, white cane, trained human assistant, doctor, or emergency service. You are responsible for verifying your emergency contacts, local emergency numbers, device permissions, and readiness before relying on the app in daily life.
Anastasis Premium removes the daily limit on AI camera descriptions. Subscriptions are offered as auto-renewing monthly, 3-month, or 6-month plans. The exact price for your selected plan and region is shown on the purchase screen before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews for the same length and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial period.
SOS, fall detection, and Medical ID features are assistive tools, not guarantees. They depend on phone permissions, network availability, GPS accuracy, and correct configuration by you. Anastasis does not guarantee that emergency services will be reached or will respond.
You agree to use Anastasis only for its intended assistive purpose and not to misuse, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt the service.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

A companion project
Anam Cara is our companion app dedicated exclusively to grief and loss — for anyone going through the pain of losing a loved one, a pet, or an important relationship. The name comes from old Irish and means "soul friend": not a distant therapist, but a gentle companion who walks beside you through the pain, for exactly as long as you need.
Comfort
A mood check-in — sadness, anger, guilt, loneliness, anxiety, numbness — paired with a message written for that moment, plus a guided breathing exercise.
Journal
A private space to write about who or what you lost, with gentle reminders on anniversaries and birthdays.
Community
Moderated groups for each type of loss — parent, partner, child, pet, breakup, divorce, and more.
Soul Light
Create a memorial for a loved one, light a candle or send a gesture of remembrance, and invite family to do the same. The app quietly reminds you of birthdays and anniversaries.
Resources
Verified crisis lines and directories for those affected by loss through suicide or facing abuse — free and always accessible.
Anam Cara does not replace therapy or professional medical help — it is a space for everyday support, alongside, not instead of, professional help when needed. Available in 10 languages. Free core features, with an optional Premium subscription for unlimited journaling and memorials.

Anam Cara ("the app") is built as a support space for grief and loss. We respect your privacy and designed the app to collect as little data as possible.
The app has no account or login. We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or other identifying data. We do not use analytics or tracking tools. We do not sell or share data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Everything you write in the app — journal entries, reminders, memorials, settings — is saved locally, directly on your device. There is no server of ours that receives or stores this data. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it.
If you choose to share a journal thought with a community group, that text becomes visible within the app's community. We do not display your real name beyond whatever display name you choose to enter.
In-app purchases (the Premium subscription) are processed entirely by Apple, through StoreKit. We do not have access to your card details or payment information — these are handled exclusively by your Apple account, under Apple's own privacy policy.
The app contains links to crisis lines and verified external resources for emergencies related to suicide, abuse, or violence. Following these links takes you outside the app and is subject to that site's own privacy policy, not ours.
The app includes a dedicated safety flow for children and teens facing abuse. We do not intentionally collect data from minors — the resources are informational and direct users to external helplines.
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, if we add crash/error reporting tools in the future). Any significant change will be reflected here, with the update date.
